COVID-19 Mitigation FAQs

What are we doing to keep customers, employees, and visitors safe?

Your health and safety is our #1 priority and we're committed to keeping our facility clean. Although we cannot eliminate all risks associated with COVID-19, we've taken several additional steps to strengthen our existing cleaning policies/procedures and to reengineer aspects of our operation to help keep you safe when you visit Campgaw Mountain.

Below are some of the enhancements we’ve made:

  • All customers, employees, and visitors will have to pass a daily temperature check at the Main Entry Gate or at the new Tubing Gate before they are permitted to enter the facility.

  • All customers, employees, and visitors will be required to complete a health screening declaration document before they are permitted to enter the facility.  As a “hands-free option”, these forms can be found on our website (skicampgaw.com), printed at home, completed the day of your visit, and brought to the Main Entry Gate to facilitate entry.

  • All customers, employees, and visitors will be required to wear masks except when eating at Campgaw.

  • If an employee does not arrive with a mask, one will be provided before being permitted to enter the facility.

  • All employees and guests will observe 6’ social distancing in all directions whenever possible.  If not possible, then the furthest distance available is to be immediately sought or the area should be vacated entirely depending upon circumstances.

  • Depending upon the requirements of their position, employees will be provided with masks, gloves, face shields, industrial respirators with masks, chemical suits, …to safely do the job.

  • Hand disinfectant dispensers have been located throughout the facility.

  • Plexiglass panes have been installed to provide a protective barrier between customers and employees transacting face-to-face business.

  • Signage instructing/reminding participants to wear masks and practice social distancing is prevalent throughout the facility.  Also, occupancy numbers are posted in each room.

  • The entrance to the Tubing facility has been relocated along the far-side of the Lodge to remove congestion and facilitate social distancing.

  • Increased, thorough cleaning will be conducted using EPA-approved disinfectant for COVID-19.  Our employees will to continually clean and sanitize high-touch areas.

  • Foot-operated (hands-free) garbage and recyclables receptacles with lids have been purchased and are being located throughout the facility.

  • The heating and ventilation system in the Lodge has been modified to bring in more fresh air into the facility.

  • UV-C lighting has been installed in many employee areas to disinfect air and surfaces.

  • Some areas of Ski School have been expanded to accommodate social distancing requirements for programs/group lessons.  As a consequence, there is much less room for guardians to gather and watch lessons up close.  We expect guardians to rigidly comply with the social distancing guidelines.  If they don’t self-regulate and keep 6’ apart in all directions, we reserve the right to consider and implement policy changes up to an including the removal of individuals not complying or banning all guardians from entering the facility until lessons are over.

  • Note: If anyone in the household is sick or experiencing symptoms of COVID-19, be considerate/responsible and please stay home.

What is changing this year?

  • Because of government-imposed occupancy levels, there will be significantly less usable space in the Lodge this season and you should plan on using your vehicle for shelter and suiting up.  We will still serve many of your favorite foods, but there will be a time 15-minute occupancy limit on each table. Food not provided by Campgaw Food Services will not be allowed on the premises and there will be no space available for any activity other than dining (e.g. reading, texting, …). There will also be some outdoor tables available for more moderate days.

  • We will operate multiple lifts more often to counter the effects of new lift restrictions:  one person per lift chair with the following exceptions: 1) if you arrive together you may ride the lift together, 2) an instructor may accompany a child who cannot otherwise ride the lift alone, and 3) a ski group may ride with members of their group, but not members of the public.

  • The Tubing entrance/exit has been moved along the far side of the Lodge and can be accessed from behind the Lodge.  The Tubing rally area for group participants has been created in the parking lot adjacent to the Tubing entrance/exit path.

  • Employee parking behind the Lodge will be almost eliminated this season.

  • We’re adding a heated, 3,000 square foot, multi-purpose tent near the Main Entry Gate.  It can provide shelter, outdoor eating opportunities, an event venue in post-COVID seasons, …
