Explorers

 

The six-week, 2 1/2-hour weekend or two 1-1/2 hour weekday programs have been designed for ages 7 and up to teach the fundamentals of skiing and snowboarding: gliding, stopping, turning, and using the ski lift safely. Explorers is an extension of our next step program designed for ages 7 and up. Participants must be able to safely ski green terrain and have the ability to ride the chairlift unassisted. 

 

Program participants will be introduced to proper pole usage and introduced to dynamic parallel skiing using training methods from the United States Ski Team.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                               

This program is designed to serve as a natural progression from the basics of the Next Step, allowing participants to advance to using the larger carpets and eventually the main lifts.  In order to progress to main lifts, each child must be able to safely ride the lift by themselves; and, this is a parental choice.                                                                                                                                                                                                           

Your child will be learning in a group setting, enabling them to learn from their instructors as well as their peers while progressing together.
