Junior Race Program
The Jr. Race Program is Campgaw Mountain's entry level race training for younger athletes ages 8 to 13 or those interested in becoming racers. It is designed for skiers and snowboarders at an advanced skill level that wish to learn to race. Our purpose is to provide athletic training, offering a path to ski and snowboard racing through local USSA/USASA-sanctioned events. The athlete will train and compete while developing strength, flexibility, agility, coordination, balance, speed, and endurance. Our race coaches emphasize tactics, techniques, and the intense training of ski racing. Athletes may train in Giant Slalom and Slalom. Athletes must be able to ski or ride the whole mountain and ride the chairlift without assistance. All athletes will have the opportunity to race at YSL events.
